Company Profile

Trillium Therapeutics Inc. (TTI) is a biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development of innovative therapies for the treatment of immune-mediated disorders. The company's therapeutic approaches are aimed at restoring balance to the immune system in conditions associated with aberrant or harmful immune responses, such as autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, cancer and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. TTI's near-term objective is to build and solidify its reputation as a premier immunology R&D company that bridges the gap between organizations involved in discovery research and those conducting late-stage clinical development.

Company Strategy

Trillium's long-term strategy is to create a broad and innovative pipeline of proprietary biologic product opportunities, which will eventually lead to an acquisition by a larger company. Trillium has already captured long-term value and risk-sharing through a series of partnerships with multinational companies, such as Genentech, Biogen Idec and Medarex (a wholly owned subsidiary of Bristol-Myers Squibb).

Intellectual Property

TTI's patent portfolio is a key value contributor to its business and the Company devotes a substantial amount of resources each year to build and maintain a strong intellectual property portfolio. TTI has an in-house patent agent and retains the services of several leading intellectual property firms, demonstrating an appreciation for the value of a strong IP position and a commitment to actively enhance and reinforce the existing portfolio. TTI also relies upon trade secrets, know-how and continuing product innovation, to develop its competitive intellectual property position.

Programs

Trillium's portfolio includes:

Three pre-clinical cancer programs, including a CD200-specific monoclonal antibody, which is being co-developed with a pharma partner, as well as two early-stage Fc fusion proteins that target the CD47Fc-SIRPa immunoregulatory pathway.

Two autoimmunity/inflammation programs, including CD200Fc, which recently entered development and was licensed to a large biotech partner, and TTI-314, an anti-CD32a specific antibody that has completed an acute toxicology study in nonhuman primates and is currently subject to partnering discussions.

Two non-core programs based upon TTI-1612, a recombinant growth factor. TTI-1612 is being developed as a treatment for interstitial cystitis and for the prevention of necrotizing enterocolitis. The company recently received clearance from the FDA to commence clinical studies and is actively seeking a development partner.
