Cannasat Therapeutics Inc.
Presenters: David Hill, Chief Executive Officer and Umar Syed, Vice President, Scientific & Strategic Affairs
Company Overview
Cannasat Therapeutics Inc. (CTH: TSXV) is focused on the development of novel cannabinoid-based pharmaceutical products through application of drug delivery technologies to be introduced to the market through the traditional regulatory drug approval process.
Pharmaceutical Development
Cannasat's pharmaceutical development strategy is to in-license proven drug delivery technologies and apply them to known cannabinoids to improve therapeutic efficacy while limiting side effects. Cannasat is adopting a low-risk development model by focusing on established technology platforms and applying them to well-characterized, known cannabinoid molecules. This strategy results in lower regulatory risk, shorter development timelines and significantly lower development costs.
Cannasat is currently working on two pre-clinical projects: CAT 310 and CAT 210. Cannasat’s lead product, CAT 310, utilizes patented drug delivery technology to deliver THC (dronabinol) systemically for rapid relief of neuropathic/chronic pain. Cannasat has completed proof-of-concept and early stage formulation development work for CAT 310 and is currently working on late-stage formulation scale-up in preparation for Phase I clinical trials.
CAT 210 is an early stage product that targets the treatment of neuropathic pain by localized delivery of cannabinoids.
